A beautiful floor starts underneath
A wooden floor can transform a room – but only if the subfloor underneath is flat, dry and sound. Most flooring problems, from creaks to gaps to boards lifting, come from rushed preparation. We supply and fit wooden floors across Larbert, Stenhousemuir and the Falkirk area, and we take the time to get the base right first.
Floors we fit
- Engineered wood flooring – a real wood top layer on a stable core; ideal over underfloor heating and in most rooms.
- Solid oak flooring – classic, hard-wearing and can be sanded many times over its life.
- Herringbone and chevron – set out carefully from the centre of the room for a striking finish.
- Laminate flooring – a practical, cost-effective option for busy rooms.
What is included
- Checking and levelling the subfloor, and fixing loose or creaking boards.
- The right underlay or adhesive for your floor and subfloor.
- Boards fitted with the correct expansion gap around the edges.
- Door bottoms trimmed and neat thresholds fitted between rooms.
- Skirting or beading to finish the edges.
Engineered or solid?
Engineered boards are more stable and suit underfloor heating and rooms where temperature and humidity change. Solid wood can be sanded and refinished more times. We will recommend what suits your room and how you live.
For the neatest finish, fit new skirting boards after the floor goes down, and consider new internal doors at the same time.
