When repair is no longer the right answer
We always look at repair first. But sometimes a window is too far gone – badly rotted throughout, previously replaced with something unsuitable, or simply beyond economic repair. In those cases we supply and fit new timber sash and case windows for homes across Larbert, Stenhousemuir and the Falkirk area, made to match the character of your property.
Made to match your originals
- Matching proportions – sash sizes, glazing bar layout, horns and mouldings to suit the property.
- Slim double glazing – for warmth and quieter rooms without chunky modern frames.
- Traditional working – cords and weights, or spiral balances where suitable.
- Quality timber – treated and primed, ready for painting or factory-finished.
- Draught sealing – built in from the start.
Full replacement or new sashes only?
If the case (the frame) is still sound, it is sometimes possible to fit new sashes into the existing case. This keeps more of the original window and disturbs less of the surrounding plaster and stonework. We will tell you which option suits your windows.
Permissions
For listed buildings you will need listed building consent to replace windows, and many conservation areas have rules about window style and materials. Check with Falkirk Council before ordering – we can provide the details they usually ask for.
Still not sure whether to replace? It is worth reading about sash window repairs and full restoration first – many windows that look beyond saving can be brought back.
