Double-glazing performance, original windows kept
Secondary glazing is a slim, discreet second window fitted on the inside of your existing sash and case window. It adds a layer of insulation and a pocket of air that cuts heat loss, draughts and noise – without altering the original window at all. We fit secondary glazing for homes across Larbert, Stenhousemuir and the Falkirk area.
The benefits
- Warmer rooms – a real improvement in heat retention.
- Quieter rooms – particularly useful on busy roads and near the railway.
- Less condensation on the original glass.
- Original windows untouched – ideal for period properties.
- Extra security – a second lockable barrier.
Designed to disappear
We choose slim frames in a colour to suit your room and line up the frame divisions with your sash meeting rails, so from the street and from inside the room the secondary glazing is hardly noticeable. Units can be vertical sliding, horizontal sliding, hinged or lift-out, so you can still open and clean your windows.
Listed buildings and conservation areas
Because secondary glazing is reversible and does not change the original window, it is often the preferred option for listed buildings. Always check with your council first.
Best results
For maximum comfort, overhaul and draught proof the sash windows first, then add secondary glazing. If your windows have internal shutters, we make sure the glazing and shutters work together – see shutter repairs.
